About the Author:

Né en 1909 à Saint-Tite-de-Champ­lain, Gra­tien Géli­nas fit ses débuts de comé­dien en 1927, au col­lège. Après avoir écrit de nom­breu­ses revues sati­ri­ques, con­nues sous le nom de Fri­do­li­na­des, il a créé en 1948 Tit-Coq, la vraie pièce de théâ­tre popu­laire que le public atten­dait. La car­rière tri­om­phale de Tit-Coq l’oc­cupa durant plu­sieurs années: tour­nées, tra­duc­tion, adap­ta­tion, film. Il a écrit par la suite Bou­sille et les Jus­tes et Hier, les enfants dan­saient. Il a fondé la Comé­die-Cana­dienne qu’il a admi­nis­trée jus­qu’en 1972 et a été pré­si­dent de la Société de déve­lop­pe­ment de l’in­dus­trie ciné­ma­to­gra­phi­que. Gra­tien Géli­nas est décédé en 1999.
