First edition, first printing in book form of this classic sci-fi novel, written by Philip Wylie and Edwin Balmer, and published in 1933 by Frederick A. Stokes. Basis for the 1951 film of the same name, and an inspiration for the Flash Gordon comic series. 8vo, hardcover, 344 pages. Red cloth boards with light blue stamped lettering, top and bottom edges rough trimmed. Some bumping and rubbing to extremities, with fraying to spine ends. Lacking the scarce dust jacket.
