Printed in black and red with tipped-in specimens of the press thus making this a leaf book. This printing contains additional bibliographical material not in the first edition. First enlarged edition, being a faithful reproduction of the original Allen Press bibliography, with additional descriptions of books published after the bibliography's appearance, and checklists of ephemeral printings compiled by Steven Corey. Near fine, with a tiny, round blemish to front board. Publication No. 180 of The Book Club of California. One of an edition limited to one hundred forty copies. Type faces of Romanee and Spectrum, set by hand, with Deepdene italic for display. The all-rag paper was handmade for this edition by Barcham Green & Company, England and was printed damped on an 1846 model Columbian handpress. Illustrations and decoratioons are from work produced at The Allen Press, 1939 through 1980. Inserts of sample pages are numbered as per Bibliography. In order to provide its members with copies of this important reference work the Club issued this facsimile edition with additions. Folio.
