Verso tape repaired by previous owner both with packing and clear tape, making spine firm; also has a series of numbers in pencil at back panel. Board corners, spine ends, and margins bumped. Lightly dust soiled and shelfworn with binding slightly cocked but firm. Starting at back endsheet; pages lightly toned but clean. A Very Good copy in a Good or better dust jacket. The first novel of Powys, who wrote mostly non-fiction, following a man who quits his stable job to become a full time wanderer and farm laborer.
