[i-vi], vii-xii prelim material, 1-213, [214] blank; unpaginated frontispiece b&w photo of subject. Author's foreword, seven chapters, bibliographical index. Condition notes: a solid but rather heavily worn copy: clipped dust jacket heavily worn with numerous chips and tears, protected with mylar. Spine ends rolled and corners bumped; edges lightly soiled. Former owner's name, neatly in pen, to front free endpaper. Green Foyle's book label, circa 1940s/50s, to front pastedown. Binding sound, slightly cocked. Pages clean and unmarked, with tanning/foxing throughout, more pronounced in opening and closing pages. We personally inspect every book we offer.
