Among the highlights noted were the following: a very rare 14th century Bestiary from the Carthusians of Erfurt; the richly illuminated Breviary of Veronika von Freudenberg, a Cistercian nun of the Abbey of Seligenpforten, at Neumarkt in Bavaria; one of the earliest manuscripts of Josephus's Jewish War in the original Greek from the monastery of Meteoron in Thessaly; a late 13th century volume containing two lives of Thomas a Becket; an early 12th century Missal, decorated with a splendid pen-and-ink drawing of the Crucifixion, intended for use in the diocese of Augsburg or Wurzburg; a 12th century commentary on Kings of Rabanus Maurus, Abbot of Fulda; an 11th century Gospels of Breton origin; handsome humanistic manuscripts of the Rhetorica ad Herennium and of Lorenzo Valla's translation of Thucydides.
