This VG quality and likely first print book was copyrighted in 1927 and is published by Lothrop, Lee & Shepard; it is 8" tall with 264 numbered pages of text. This book has a bluish-gray cloth binding with all lettering in black; the front panel has a 3-1/4" x 4-1/4" photo applique as well as a black-on-bluish-gray view of the foreward guns of a battleship; the spine has a 3-1/4" tall image of Navy corpsman blowing a bugle. The book is square, very clean, free of corner bumps and edge dings; the head and heel of the spine are bumped with only slight damage; the bottom edges have very little wear. The spine is clean and the lettering is still very clear and the image intact; however, the spine is somewhat faded and has several small spots where the paint has dissolved, showing the threads of the binding cloth. The front panel applique is clean and has very noticeable wear. The interior is free of writing, stray marks, stains of any sort and page damage of any type. Both hinges are quite strong and not damaged in any fashion. The text paper is modestly toned and is quite flexible. The book has no remainder mark and is not a former library book. It is profusely illustrated with photos on coated paper. The list at the front of the book lists through this title; there is no other list in the book. Seller Inventory # BMR-2020-8-14-3
