It was established in 1654 and until 1825 was the only Jewish congregation in New York City (Wikipedia, 2019) . Includes "Amendments to by-laws, adopted and ratified 31st July and 4th September 1836" on pages 17-19 and " Resolutions of the Trustees relative to the cemetary [sic] on Long Island of the Congreation Shearith Israel .
