True first British printing. No (very rare) jacket. 245 pages plus 2 pages of publisher's adverts to rear. With illustrations by I. W. Taber. Original tissue guard to frontispiece still present (little browned/creased). Blue boards with gold lettering and design to spine and front are very good with a little pushing/bumping to corners, the odd small mark, odd minor scratch, slight darkening to spine, the odd minor bump to edges, minor patchy rubbing to edges and minor pushing/rubbing to head/tail of spine. Minor spine lean. Pages are generally clean and the binding is tight. All edges gilt (slightly rubbed/scratched). Pages slightly tanned. Odd old ink mark/previous owner's name and date in pen to half-title page. Very occasional small mark/spot of foxing to pages. No other faults. A nice copy.
