Contemporary rather unprepossessing library binding (London County Council Education Library) - rebacked in plain cloth with sturdy boards, hand-written label to spine. xviii[ii]+525pp. Binding ugly, spine cracked internally, library stamps to title page. However, there is no loss, text block good. Certainly useable and suitable for rebinding. Scarce first edition of this all encompassing, much cited work on the Germanic languages.
