About this Item

This is a very good copy of Jerry G Walls's masterly synopsis of the living conidae. The cover is a little bit bumped on the edges here and there and has some tiny indentations (see photo) in the bottom right corner at the back, but otherwise the covers back and front still look fresh. The binding is holding up well given the thickness of this book but has come away slightly at the front end (see photo). There is a previous owner's stamp on the front free endpaper and a small sticker has been removed adjacent to the stamp. Both free endpapers exhibit tanning, and Page 524 has some slight damage to the side edge. All pages are clean and white and exhibit no markings of any kind, showcasing the text and the hundreds of colour plates that are the main feature of this sought-after work.

I will begin by saying that mine is neither a conventional bookstore nor a conventional business. I have been a great reader and learner all my long life and have acquired a substantial number of books, which I began to sell off in a small way when I moved to a flat about ten years ago - and now that I am even older I am having to move once again in the next year or so, this time into an even smaller flat in a retirement community. In short, my Abe membership is a consequence of too little space and way too many books... My collection is fairly eclectic and mostly derives from my various hobbies, notably malacology and crafting. However there are a few more general items as well, some already owned by me, but also for the last five years or so I have enjoyed scouting around in charity shops testing my ability to acquire interesting oddities that I think might sell well.
