224 pages of text. Original dark green hardcover binding with moderate shelfwear, including rubbing to the extremities and slight darkening of spine; protected in stiff custom archival mylar. Lacks front flyleaf (blank). Complete with half-title page, frontispiece, engraved illustrated title page, text, and four additional plates; contains six total illustrations. Reported to be the first book on sporting dogs published in America. The plates show the Setter, Newfoundland, Fox Hound, Shepherd's or Sheep Dog and Springer.
