About this Item

Quite scarce mystery novel with supernatural elements from the Norwegian writer Jonas Lie, grandson of Jonas Lie, the novelist who was one of the Four Greats of 19th century Norwegian literature. Very good first edition, spine cocked and endpapers tanned in very good jacket also tanned with some wear and light chipping to spine ends, else nicely preserved in mylar. Quote from Knut Hamsun on the front jacket panel reads, "Jonas Lie's Books are the Best Detective Stories I Have Read." Lie was a minister of police from 1941-1945 and had close toes to Heinrich Himmler and Germany during WWII.
