Trenton: Printed by Joseph Justice, 1830. 392 pp. Octavo (8-1/2" x 4-3/4"). Contemporary sheep, blind rules to boards, blind fillets and lettering piece to spine. Moderate rubbing, some scuffing to boards, ink annotations ("Clerk's Office") to front board, chipping to spine ends, corners bumped and lightly worn, partial crack in text block after title page. Light toning to interior, light foxing in a few places, faint dampstaining to top-edge of last several leaves, brief ink corrections to pp. 134 and 343. $75. * First edition. A digest of New Jersey reports beginning with Coxe in 1789 and ending with 5 Halstead in 1829. A second edition was published in two volumes in 1843-1844. Halstead was a New Jersey lawyer and reporter of the New Jersey Supreme Court from 1821 to 1832. He also served as a member of the House of Representatives in the twenty-fifth and twenty-seventy Congresses. OCLC locates 12 copies of the first edition, 5 in law libraries (Georgetown, Library of Congress, Harvard, Maine State Law and Legislative Reference Library, UW-Madison).
