The sci-fi legend Asimov covers the underlying principles of using the slide rule in this book, starting with simple mathematics, all the way up to logarithms. This book serves both for the unfamiliar to those comfortable using a slide rule but want to expand their knowledge. This is a stated first printing, with cover art of slide rules in pink, peach, and orange on the front and back covers. The title is in pink and orange print on the front cover in front of a black background. The book is clothbound in orange with a slide rules printed in black along the front edge. The dust jacket has some loss and rubbing to the topmost part of the spine and smaller chips, tears, and rubbing along the edges and corners. An original price of 3.50 is printed in the inner flap of the front DJ cover. The book also has some wear to the corners and the top and bottom edges of the spine.
