Harper, 1905. First edition. Illustrated by Strothmann, 7 plates. Red cloth with pictorial front board, white titling. Spine is faded, titling rubbed; light even sunning to board. Copy of C. L Armstrong a principle staff writer for the Victoria Evening Post with his signature: "C. L. Armstrong Evening Post Victoria, B. C. 1909". 1909 headlines feature Armstrong meeting and reporting on the arrival of the Peary Expedition. Twain quote cut out and pasted onto endpaper. Riotous, ironic stories of Twain's cub reporting days: "My First Literary Venture"; "Journalism in Tennessee"; "Nicodemus Dodge-Printer"; "Mr. Bloke's Item"; "How I Edited an Agricultural Paper"; "The Killing of Julius Caesar 'Localized'".
