First American edition, 8vo, pp. viii, [4], 387, [1]; vi, [2], 437, [3]; 29 illustrations on 27 plates, 6 maps; near fine copy in original navy cloth stamped in gray and gilt on upper covers and spines, t.e.g.; light soiling to lower board of volume II, offsetting to endpapers, text clean and bright; very good dust jackets a touch toned, but with a chip in the spine of volume I, and volume II with a closed tear. Landor traveled through Japan, Korea, China, Tibet, India, and Russia. He died the year this autobiography was published. Yakushi L64a.
