Exhibition catalog. Preface by Connie Wolf. Text by Irene Faber. Slim small quarto. Fine in wrappers with a publisher's price sticker on the lower wrap. With a bookmark from the museum laid in. Charlotte Salomon (1917-1943) was born in Berlin to a German-Jewish family. In 1943 she was captured by the Nazis in France and taken to Auschwitz, where she was killed. The basis of the exhibition are watercolors she painted in southern France between 1941 and 1943. The exhibition was held at the Contemporary Jewish Museum, March 31 to July 31, 2011.
