An ordained Roman Catholic priest, he strongly opposed the established Church of Ireland. He raised vast sums of money from the Irish diaspora that implemented his good works. This is a Very Good copy of the First American Edition, which is uncommon. Brown cloth binding, decoratively stamped, with gilt lettering on the spine. Clean text; 392 pages; with a contemporary signature on the FFEP. The text is very bright and clear, with occasional and minor spotting; pages somewhat stiff to turn. The covers are rather worn-looking,with bumped corners, but are sound. Size: 12mo - over 6¾" - 7¾" tall. First American Edition. Hard Cover. Very Good/No Jacket.
