Add to basketHarper & Row. New York. 1964. Un-paginated; 57 pages. The plum here is the rare DJ that matches first state DJs of the first edition, first printing. The DJ is currently protecting a first edition, early printing as there is no ISBN number on the copyright page. FWIW, the first printing book has a 4 line colophon, the next printing has a 6 line colophon with a standard book number, and later printings have an international standard book number. This original first edition, first issue DJ has 0964 on front flap and three reviews of Lafcadio on rear flap by Kirkus, the New York Times and Publisher?s Weekly. $2.50 price-clipped from top of front flap. A full-torso photograph of Silverstein with hair on his head positioned on upper left of the back of DJ. Book measures 8.75 inches by 7 inches. DJ shows a couple of small closed edge tears with light shelf-rubbing. Open chip along upper rear edge. Book is tight. Binding and hinges are strong and sound. Illustrated boards are bright. Small, minor scuff on front cover. Previous owner's name neatly written (small) on edge of FFEP. Small faint discoloration on rear panel. A very attractive copy in an original 1st state DJ; a perfect compliment for your naked first edition, first printing. Also laid-in is a Shel Silverstein USPS First Day Cover with an official First Day of Issue postmark; as well as a Shel Silverstein USPS Digital Color Postmark First Day Cover.
