First edition, first impression, in the second state dustwrapper (priced 2/6 to the spine, not 7/6, but otherwise mirroring the first issue wrapper to the panels and spine). The fourth 'Blandings' novel, a sequel to Summer Lightning. Near Fine: firm and square binding in sharp blue cloth with orange titles to the spine and upper board; fresh cloth with just a little dulling to the spine; toning to the edge of the page block, else all very bright, crisp and clean, free from inscriptions and foxing. The dustwrapper is Good+: bright and vibrant with the illustration showing wonderfully; vivid, unfaded colouring with no toning or darkening; chips and fraying to the spine tips and corners; 2cm closed tear with associated creasing to the top of the rear panel, sealed to the verso with professional mending tissue; presented in a removable, archival-quality Brodart protective cover.
