Stringbound proof with New York Times Book Review slip paper-clipped to the cover sheet, requesting 500 words by November 2nd from one Harry T. Moore (note - NOT murdered NAACP leader Harry Tyson Moore, who was killed in 1951). This Moore seems to have reviewed books for the Times in the late '50s and early '60s; more info seems impossible to find online, due to the much more famous man of the same name. String-bound sheets, as pictured. Generally good+, showing light wear, creasing, some damage to page edges; NYT slip tanned, creased, chipped, torn; some rust stains from the paperclip, other minor stains. Front matter including the title page & table of contents absent, up to and including page [iv], probably as issued - at least, it's been this way for a while. Text clean; pages v-x, [1]-368, printed on one side only - though Miller's introduction mentions an index & bibliography, they are not included. Size: 5½" By 9¼". Seller Inventory # u0721
