About this Item

First edition. Emerald green cloth stamped in black and with gilt ornament of a house. 314 pps. Illustrated with vignettes and with ornamental headpieces and capitals. A friendly but useful 19th century guide to building a home presented as a series of "letters between an architect and a familly man seeking a home". A tight copy with the cover gilt design still bright and the spine lettering clear; some spotting to the cloth particularly near the outer edges; shallow wear at the ends of the spine. The front hinge is split but this has not loosened. A charming book. Bookseller Inventory # D8596
