First edition. 91pp. Rebound in pebble leather with gilt-stamped title and "William Mulholland" on front board, marbled endpapers and page edges. Fold-out chart. Hinges reinforced with cloth tape, spine and edges chipped and worn with some loss, a good only copy. William Mulholland's copy, a member of the British Merchant Navy. Mulholland was best known for his design and the building of the Los Angeles Aqueduct leading to one of the biggest disputes known as the California Water Wars, he also consulted on the Hoover Dam.
