1823. Presumed first English edition. xxx, [i], 279pp. Meier or Meyer Hirsch (c1765-1851) was a German mathematician who worked as a private mathematics teacher in Berlin. He taught Wilhelm and Alexander von Humboldt, and others, and published several works that were much used as teaching aids. This book of tables includes formulae of reduction, integrals of rational differentials, integrals of irrational differentials, and integrals of transcendental differentials. The book has been rebacked and recased in later (probably late 20th century) grey paper covered boards with a black cloth spine. There is no titling on the case of the book (Actually we have just stuck a temporary, removable label onthe spine). The case of the book is in very good condition with some shelf wear on the boards and light bumping to the spine ends. The contents are tight and clean with some light foxing on the first and last few pages, including the title-page. There is no inscription. Seller Inventory # gMaths09
