True first. Preceded the later Alston Rivers, Ltd. issue by several months, re-titled A Gentleman of Leisure. Bound in black cloth with gilt lettering to front and spine panels and pictorial of woman illuminated by flashlight and flanked by silhouette of man holding flashlight to front panel. Color frontis with tissue guard intact and 4 black-and-white plates internally, all accomplished by noted artist Will Greif. Conforms to Jasen 13. 314 pp. 7 1/2" x 5 1/4". Tight copy with early inscription to front blank. Light shelf wear. Long tear to leaf 278/288. An especially presentable copy of an early Wodehouse title.
