Sanctioned by D. Giles, governor of the Bank of England, and others, Jones was granted an exclusive license to print and sell the book. It exerted considerable influence and the method was subsequently adopted throughout England. Evans 30644; Kress B.3210 citing the Bristol, England edition of the same year.
