"Das, a Pundit of the Indian Survey, explored the area between North Sikkim and Lhasa during the years 1879 to 1881 and reached Lhasa in 1881. Reports first printed as 'Narrative of a Journey to Lhasa in 1881-82' in 1885, and 'Narrative of a Journey round Lake Yamdo (Palti) and in Lhakha, Yarlung and Sakya in 1882' in 1887" (Yakushi). Yakushi D55 noting the first edition of 1902 with only 6 plates and almost 100 fewer pages.
