First edition. Cover illustration by Barrye Phillips. Binding slightly cocked with bumped spine ends, tiny stains on cover, very good in a price-clipped, good only dust jacket with chips and tears, and stains with a couple interior tape repairs on the spine. Basis for the very hardboiled film featuring James Cagney as a particularly crooked crook, and also starring Luther Adler, Ward Bond and the sadly doomed Barbara Payton. Seller Inventory # 535092
