pp vii 216. Illustrated with 9 original Sepia photographs by Wilson [as stated On spine] mounted within printed and titled framed borders [No Tissue Guards]. Original Mauchline lacquered wooden boards with Stuart Tartan pattern at back and front and an a oval bust of Sir Walter Scott framed in gold on front only. Red morocco spine tooled in gilt. All edges of pageblock git. White endpapers with yellowing to inner edges . Verso of endpapers and adjacent blank pages heavily foxed. Half-title page and verso of frontis also badly foxed with moderate foxing to title page and several other pages. Illustration pages have moderate to heavy foxing to borders although the photogaraphs themselves appear unaffected and in Fine condition. Apart from the spotting this would have been a very good to near fine copy with light rubbing to head and foot of spine and spine fore edge. The titles of the photographic illustrations are :- 1.
