First Edition with 'Twain in Flames', subsequently removed from later printings due to objections of morbidity from his wife. The binding is the original leather, the most expensive binding offered by the publisher. The binding is original. In remarkable condition. Printed in 1883. Long inscription on blank end paper as shown in the pictures. Hinges rubbed but strong. Twain in Flames. St. Charles Hotel on page 443. Mixed state. Precedence is given to copies with St. Louis Hotel. Ink writing on blank end paper. Paper is well preserved. The original publisher's Morocco binding is scarce. This will be well protected for shipping via Priority Mail. 2022.06.03.
