This edition, published to coincide with the 50th anniversary of the first appearance of The Fellowship of the Ring, also includes the appendices and a revised and updated index. The 'definitive' edition of the text. The publisher's accompanying description states that the covers are red and the marker ribbon is red as well; both statements are wrong. Seller Inventory # 8647
