This is a First Printing of the First Edition of American author Peter S. Beagle's beloved fantasy classic, in very good plus condition. "First Published in 1968 by The Viking Press" is stated on the copyright page with no additional dates. The book is bound in a black cloth spine over textured blue paper boards with title and author in light blue and purple on the spine. There is a tiny indentation on the top edge of the front cover. The edges of the covers have a thin line of sun-toning. Top edges rose tinted. Endpapers in the color purple. Name of previous owner on the first free endpaper. Otherwise, pages are clean, smooth and unmarked. The binding is tight. The dust jacket is in fair condition with a darkened spine panel, large chip of missing paper on the top corner of the front panel and missing paper on the ends of the spine panel. The original price is on the front flaps.Now protected in a removable clear archival cover. Please see all images. Cover art by Mel Williamson.

Operating through a retail outlet located at 200 Maine St. in Brunswick and through its on-line sales activities, Curtis Friends operates only with volunteers from the local community and sells only those books donated by its constituents. Curtis Friends has been in existence for several decades.
