First Edition, with matching dates, 1885, "Memorial Edition, Elegantly Illustrated". Clean and tightly bound with gilded and ornately designed cover titles and imagery. Light edge wear and very minor spine slant. The contents show slight rippling and staining. The front hinge shows a paper split however binding remains firm. The rear endpaper has a chip to one corner. Remains a Very Good copy. This copy is from a 19th Century private lending institution, the Mercantile Library of New York City. There are no external indications of the library's ownership. The Mercantile Library stamp and number are on the title page and some of the internal pages.
