Includes a bookmark from Himalayan Mountaineering Institute Darjeeling attached to sewing on ribbons and laid into textblock (as issued?). This copy inscribed by the author and head of this expedition, "Best wishes to Rev. and Mrs. R. M. Bennett from Gyan Singh, Darjeeling, 11 January 1962." The Rev. Bennett, a graduate of McMaster University, is a Baptist missionary who was a first-hand observer of Indian affairs since 1929. During the World War II he commanded a unit of Indian engineers and served in the Punjab and on the northwest frontier. Yakushi S529.
