Rust cloth gilt. 194pp. Owner's small bookplate on front pastedown and nameplate on verso of front flyleaf, moderate, early soiling on cloth, a very good copy, with the text fresh and clean. O'Connell was born in Ireland, and moved to San Francisco in 1870. His grand-uncle was the famous patriot and statesman, Daniel O'Connell, known to history as the 'Irish Liberator.' Laid into the book is a newspaper clipping, about the author, from the Monterey Peninsula Herald (March, 1950). Author's first book. Poems include: "Drunk in the Street," "An Opium Dream," "Wine Pictures," "The Christmas Trees," etc.
