In pictorial paper stiff card boards, in matching unclipped dust wrapper, with edge wear, including missing sections and chips at head and tail of spine. Some wear to extremities, including edges, corners and head and tail of spine. Flyleaves browned, but otherwise a very good copy. 1952 Signature on first free endpaper. Illustrated throughout, including title page, by colour decorations, vignettes, headings, lettering and initials. Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. Dust Jacket Condition: Good. 1st Edition. D/W complete but rubbing and slight tears to the edges and spine and edges darkening. Internally d/w is browned. Boards illustration matches d/w, bumped corners and slightly rubbed edges. Browned band on prelim, and slightly on fep, where no d/w, similar to bep (from gap created by d/w width) Contents clean, firm and vg, very slightly aged but fits well with the beautiful hand written coloured text and illustrations.
