Messages from Beyond, The First Book is the true story of the continuation - after the death of the author's wife - of a World War II romance that started in London, England between Alma, an air force records' clerk and Jim, an air force bomber pilot. They married in London in 1945. Alma left the Earth plane of life in 1992.
Additionally, it contains messages from many on spirit-side: a host of angels, archangels and Jesus. There are special messages from the archangel, Gabriel, for all peoples of Earth; and, there are messages on the importance in our lives of colors - from the archangel, Zadkiel.
In all, it combines the simple spiritual principles of love with sound, up to-date daily information to help readers understand this mysterious universe. Messages from Beyond, The First Book will inspire, comfort, and deeply enlighten.
JAMES P.R. MASON, CGA (Retired)
After forty years in the business and political worlds - variously as a student accountant; as an air survey pilot; as a salesman; as a politician; as a labor relations conciliator, negotiator and arbitrator; as a retailer, and as a public accountant, auditor and management consultant - Jim finally decided to hang up his hat in 1991 to enjoy his remaining years in retirement with his wife, Alma.
Jim was born to Charles and Elizabeth Mason in Vancouver, Canada on February 6, 1923. He graduated from Kitsilano High School in Vancouver in 1941. Wanting to be a professional engineer, he went back to school for senior matriculation, with the intention of entering the Applied Sciences Faculty at the University of British Columbia the next year. However, it was not to be.
To obtain the funds needed to help finance his studies, Jim applied to the UBC bursary, but the heavy wartime enrollment caused the hearing panel to suggest that he reapply for the winter session. This was something new that would be starting in a few months.
With the impatience of youth, and a war going on, Jim decided to join the Royal Canadian Air Force to become an operational pilot. This he did in September, 1942. A year later he graduated, and went to England where he flew as a four-engine Lancaster bomber pilot.
Shortly after starting operations over Germany, he met Alma in London. Alma was also a Canadian, having been born in Regina, Saskatchewan, where she lived until, at age sixteen, she traveled to London, England with her parents and brother. There, during the war, she joined the Canadian air force, and was working in the RCAF Records Office in Knightbridge, London when she and Jim met. They married in February, 1945.
Jim finished his tour with the rank of Flight Lieutenant just as the war in Europe ended; and, after postings home, Alma and Jim were re-united in Vancouver. They raised five children who all married. They have thirteen grandchildren.
Although he still wanted to be an engineer, an RCAF personnel counselor had said he'd make a better accountant than an engineer. So, after checking things out at UBC, Jim decided that the economics of the situation would make accountancy a better choice. He took the course leading to the degree of Certified General Accountant (CGA) (equivalent to CPA in the United States); and, after delays resulting mainly from business considerations, he graduated in 1955.
Immediately, he started on his own as a public accountant, auditor and management consultant.
It wasn't long before his high school days interest in "politics" on the students' council was revived. He soon ran for office; and, was elected to the Burnaby School Board. After serving as a school trustee for four years, he ran for council and later for mayor unsuccessfully, but this led to an appointment to the Burnaby Parks Board as a commissioner. Attempts at election to the federal parliament and the provincial legislature followed. These didn't work out, so he concentrated on business.
Along the way, with Alma and their eldest son, James G. Mason, while the author was still engaged in public practice as an accountant, and also doing labor relations work, they opened a small retail television store across the street from his office in Burnaby.
It wasn't long before this business expanded into a full line of electronic entertainment and other products. After a few more years, they bought a furniture and appliances store in Vancouver. Under the management of their eldest son, that business grew. In the meantime, their younger son, Brian, managed the Burnaby store. Burnaby adjoins Vancouver.
After a time, Brian decided to renew his studies by taking the British Columbia Institute of Technology's course in business administration, so they closed the Burnaby store; and, concentrated on the Vancouver location.
Jim had been for many years a Rotarian and, also, a member of the Burnaby Board of Trade. He is a past master of his Masonic Lodge; and, is a Shriner.
In 1991, Jim and Alma felt they should retire from the business world, so coincidently with moving the furniture store from Vancouver to Cloverdale, they transferred their interests to their son, James G. Mason. Cloverdale is located thirty miles from Vancouver, near their son's home. The author and his son, Jim, had negotiated the purchase a a building there that had housed a furniture business for many years.
Tragically, a year and a half later, after nearly forty-eight years of married life with Jim, Alma passed away on September 11, 1992. Breast cancer had taken its toll.
Jim continues to maintain the family home in Burnaby, BC and the weekend retreat in Washington State - only an hour and a quarter drive away.
In 1994, Jim became one of the principal organizers of a new spiritualist church. It holds regular weekly services at a community center in Burnaby. Due to the pressure of his other activities - mostly to do with his writing- he is no longer active in the church, but does attend from time to time.
For recreation, he occasionally skis (cross country), rides a bike and golfs. His latest passion is ballroom dancing. This has become a regular activity.
His relationship with Alma continues. They communicate at the computer during Jim's regular meditation periods, and daily on a verbal basis. This has led to a communications' networking with many angels, archangels, Jesus, other high spirit entities; and, more recently (see his second book), his channeling has led to explorations of other worlds of our galaxy, and to inter-dimensional planetary exploring.
These communications are what MESSAGES FROM BEYOND, THE FIRST BOOK and MESSAGES FROM BEYOND, THE SECOND BOOK are all about.
