First printing, near fine in a near fine dust jacket. Light green pebbled cloth with dark green lettering on spine and front board, with an illustration of an arrowhead on the front board, Interior pages are slightly toned; the book is tight and square. The price clipped jacket has a couple of tiny chips at edges, and a little soiling to the rear panel. Includes an Introduction by Margaret Culkin Banning, five maps (including endpapers), and numerous illustrations, glossary, chronology, bibliography, and an index; 231 numbered pages. The book was sponsored by the Minnesota Arrowhead Association, whose Executive Secretary, S. Valentine Saxby, inscribed the book to C. A. Bolte on 10/12/43, all on the half title page. A title in The American Guide Series.
