Large 4to (11¾ x 9 ¾ ) with cloth boards and blind-stamped vignettes of a Japanese port on the front boards and US Navy ship design embossed on spines. Volume 1 illustrated with 88 tinted lithographs and two facsimile colored woodblock prints. Included are the wrestlers of Yokohama and the suppressed Bathers plate. Volume 2 illustrated with four tinted lithographs, two engraved plates, six hand colored bird plates, 9 hand colored fish prints and 5 plates of shells (2 colored).
