Fine old-style calf, gilt, spine with raised bands & red morocco label. xxviii, 416pp. London, Published two years after the original French edition, this first English is particularly rare. ?Du Mont left the French army to serve in Germany. The various campaigns he took part in form the basis of his travels, which he augments with interesting accounts of the customs and life in the countries he visited in the form of letters. Four of the eight plates illustrate genre scenes in Constantinople? (Navari).
