First Edition of Osbert Sitwell's 'A Place of One's Own' with original publisher's binding. The mystery novella, set in the early twentieth century, follows an elderly couple moving into their new house who discover that it is haunted. The book was adapted into a British film in 1945 of the same title. Osbert Sitwell was an English writer, brother of Sacheverelle Sitwell, and was similarly successful genre-varying writer and poet. This copy is the first imprint of the first edition. No dust wrapper. In publisher's original binding. No dust wrapper. Externally very smart, only some minor bumping to the head and tail of the spine and perhaps some discolouration all round. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright and clean.
