Bondy Miniature Books, p. 97: One of the most compendious one-volume works ever published in miniature format is the 1902 edition of Manzoni's great novel I promessi sposi. The printer-publishers are the brothers Salmin of Padua who were responsible for the sensational Dantino and the tiny Galileo. In this volume dedicated to Queen Margherita of Savoy they have departed from the use of the ultra-small type used in these earlier volumes and employ a good legible 4,5-point type. Spielmann n. 355A writes: 'One of the most important and extensive works ever produced in such tiny compass'.
