There is some scuffing to the binding, and some old paper with early writing is stuck to the top right corner of the front cover. Another bit of paper is adhered to the front and rear covers near the spine. There is a 19th century prior owner's bookplate of "W. Ward, D.D." on the front pastedown. The front flyleaf has an 1810 notation signed "H. Robinson." The text is unmarked. The author's name is not printed on the title page; the author is given as "By a Presbyter of the Church of England," and "Dr. N. Marshall" is written in an early hand just above that.
