Original Publisher's decorative half leather with gilt lettering and ornament on spines. Bindings firm but in poor condition. Interior absolutely excellent with some minor staining to endpapers only. Inscription in both Volumes state that these Volumes belonge to George Crichton, S.S.Germanic, 1879, where they obviously were given to him as a gift "From John Walsh, Philadelphia, American Minister at St.James's - London".
