About this Item
Bob "Tex" Allen was a Western movie star in the 1930s, who was eclipsed in the genre with the arrival of the singing cowboys, Gene Autry and Roy Rogers. Originally known for the Bob Allen Ranger films, Allen's career reached far beyond Westerns. He also starred in films of historical note like The Perils of Pauline and Crime and Punishment. He won an Academy Award nomination in 1936 for his lead actor performance in "The Life of Lafayette." He also appeared in Showboat and Auntie Mame on Broadway. This very uncommon, 5.5 x 7.5-inch, 20-page pamphlet is self-produced, with poems that are both charming and simple, and some have religious content. Seller Inventory # 123119-5
