First Edition of Mills' classic work on those that held (hold?) power in the United States. First printing, as indicated by: 1956 on copyright page with no later printings mentioned, 1956 on title page, dust jacket has a quote from the book on the rear with no reviews, and dust jacket price is $6.00. Black cloth boards show edge wear, more so to the bottom edges. Some light shelf wear to boards themselves. Some light smudging / spotting to text block edges. Internally, former owner's bookplate to front paste down, end papers have some toning. Otherwise, pages are nice and clean throughout. Dust jacket has both corners of front fold over being cut, although the $6.00 price remains on the lower corner. Jacket has edge wear, small chips and tears, as shown in the photos. A good, solid copy. All of our books are individually inspected and described. Never X-library unless specifically described as such.
