First American Edition. An absolutely beautiful First Issue in collectible condition. First Issue, with Franklin imprint on copyright page (versus University Press in later issues); BAL 3402. Light wear to cloth, bookplate, some fading to the case. 411 pp. 192 illustrations in black and white. (8vo) original green cloth, lettered and decorated in black and gilt Recased with the original spine and front cover cloth laid down, custom chemise and calf-backed slipcase.
