Octavo. 60 pages. First issue (with p. 60 blank and ad on p. 61). Preliminary half-title with printer's name, T. Davison on verso and with an advertisement for "A third canto of Childe Harold" notes "published this day, 5s, 6d. Mary Shelley was Byron's copyist for this and several poems later. The physical copy then was easily read by the typographer of major works. The poem is among the most moving in describing the horrors of imprisonment. Bound in original boards with worn leather spine (unlettered). chipping to spine ends and a short split near head, in cloth covered slipcase. Seller Inventory # 028525
