Bound by the Library at The University of Cape Town, South Africa, whose bookplate on the front pastedown records, "The book was presented by Republic of China, 1933." Library stamps and labels fixed to pastedowns and front endpaper, title page and verso. Extremely rare and with added interest of being a copy presented by the Republic of China. Large colour map in rear pocket, Illustrated with maps, sketches, charts, diagrams and photographs. Slight wear, faint scuffing and slight marking to covers, with ascension number in white ink at lower spine, otherwise sound, slightly used, near very good with clean text and plates.
